The COMBO Model COM1000 Bottled Water Dispensing System is designed to pump water from commercially available 5 gallon water bottles. The system will deliver water under pressure to an individual drinking water faucet, the water inlet of a refrigerator to the icemaker and chilled drinking water tap, and to certain commercial coffee makers / tea brewers. It can also be used to supply water to certain Jupiter Water Ionizers.
The heart of the system is the pump module that automatically adjusts the flow and pressure to fill an appliance or faucet and stops automatically. A single COMBO water dispenser can supply water to more than one appliance with an optional adapter (not included).
The suction wand, when inserted into the 5-gallon water bottle, it will activate the float switch on the end of the wand and turn on the pump. This same float switch shuts off the system when the bottle is empty. First stage filtration is when the water enters the cartridge, it is passed through a 1 micron prefilter that removes suspended particles, such as silt, sediment, sand, rust, dirt,. In the second next stage, the water passes through a bed of a media made of a special high-purity alloy blend of two dissimilar metals - copper and zinc KDF55 This media, is a major advancement in water treatment technology that works on the electro-chemical and spontaneous-oxidation-reduction (redox) principles. Chlorine is instantaneously and almost inexhaustibly oxidized. Tests on this cartridge have shown 99+% chlorine removal past 15,000 gallons of water while a carbon cartridge of comparable volume drops below 90% effectiveness after only 4,000 gallons. Iron and hydrogen sulfide are oxidized into insolubable matter and attach to the surface of the media. Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and aluminum are removed from the water by the electrochemical process. They are attracted to the surface of the media, much like a magnet. The media inhibits bacteria growth throughout the entire unit (in fact, has been shown to reduce it up to 90%!), eliminating the need for silver, commonly used in carbon-only filters.
Third stage granulated activated carbon (GAC) is universally recognized and widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic contaminants, such as herbicides, pesticides, industrial chemicals, and trihalomethanes (THM's). Carbon-only filters must also use their capacity for chlorine removal, resulting in a shortened life. We use a high-grade coconut shell carbon that is most effective at removing chemicals.
